Training Program
Join our nationally certified wildland fire science training program and gain the skills to respond to wildfire emergencies in AVÀÇÂÛ̳ and around the world. This innovative, hands-on program combines classwork with extensive in-the-field training — operating chainsaws and fire pumps, working with helicopters and other aircraft, and simulating actual fire environments in the majority of our courses. Thanks to our own university-based wildland fire crew and numerous partnerships with local and national fire agencies and wildland programs, you’ll also have the opportunity to be employed as a student firefighter as part of a hand crew or gain a foot in the door with multiple wildland fire agencies. Graduates have an exceptional placement rate in firefighting and other emergency service related careers across AVÀÇÂÛ̳ and the nation.
