Eva Creek – History and First Year Observations by GVEA
Tuesday, February 18, 2014, 6:00pm – 7:30pm
The Blue Loon (2999 Parks Highway)
Presenter:
Paul Morgan, Eva Creek Manager, Golden Valley Electric Association (GVEA)
Description:
At just under 25-megawatts, Eva Creek is the largest wind project in AVÀÇÂÛ̳ and the
first by any Railbelt utility. The project has integrated well into GVEA’s system
and has enabled the cooperative to meet its Renewable Energy Pledge ahead of schedule.
On February 18th Paul Morgan, from GVEA, will give a quick history of the Eva Creek
Wind Farm. He will discuss the first full year’s performance data, speak about observations
of experiences at the site, and cover how the farm adjusts its power output as demand
fluctuates across the grid.
