ACEP at Work: VDOS Project Update

Project Description: The Video Debris Observation System (VDOS) consists of the design, construction and testing of a remote video observation system designed to detect river debris with the goal of protecting hydrokinetic turbines.

Progress Update:  Long term testing has begun on the VDOS. The system is configured to take one photo per second for the duration of the test. The test will run 2-3 months. Minor adjustments are being made to the photo resolution and storage procedure to optimize the collection process and limit any gaps in data. Once the right configuration has been made the cameras will be left at those settings for the duration of the test.
