ACEP Affiliate with the UAF Cooperative Extension Service Returns from Taipei

ACEP affiliated researcher Art Nash of the UAF Cooperative Extension Service returned to Fairbanks early last week from a conference held in Taipei. The conference, titled the 6th International Conference on Applied Energy, took place at the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology.
The Conference included topics such as electricity generation, CO2 mitigation, renewable analysis, and other issues. There were over a thousand research topics submitted to the Conference organizers, and less than half were given presentation time. Seventy nations were represented.
Art presented on his work in relation to a Remote Energy workshop that he and David Pelunis-Messier of the Tanana Chiefs Conference collaboratively created. Art also presented the AVÀÇÂÛ̳n school district’s information on displacing fuel oil with wood burning that he co-authored with ACEP researcher Daisy Huang.
While in Taipei Art was able to network with experts from Pakistan, South Africa, and Taiwan in an attempt to better understand how to get energy to remote locations with stranded fuel sources.
