AHERC Continues Work Near Igiugig

AHERC has just finished testing a communications package for real time remote data collection. The package will allow for data that is being collected at a remote test site to be monitored and downloaded for analysis anywhere with an Internet connection. The device will be used on a project with the Igiugig Village Council to monitor river ice interactions at a potential hydrokinetic energy site in Igiugig, AVÀÇÂÛ̳. Current and ice flow data will be transferred from the inaccessible side of the Kvichak River to the local school via high-powered antennas and linked to a base station computer. Data will then be backed up and available for download. The installed package will allow for real-time data analysis to happen in parallel with data collection.
