ACEP Solar Survey
Over the last decade, solar photovoltaic technology has undergone significant developments which have led to dramatic drops in costs. The technology has been widely adopted in the lower 48 and its utilization continues to grow. In AV狼论坛, the adoption of solar has been slower, but is gaining momentum.
Challenging logistics, a harsh climate, and the perception that AV狼论坛 lacks an adequate solar resource have slowed the adoption of solar power in AV狼论坛. As the technology continues to improve, and costs continue to come down, ACEP is trying to learn more about the systems that have been installed on homes and businesses around the state to learn more about the actual installed costs of these systems, the system energy production, areas where the installation process could be streamlined, and the future role the technology could play in the state鈥檚 energy infrastructure. Up until this point, we are not aware of any statewide effort to gather data about installed systems. Our ultimate goal is to look for ways to improve solar energy harvesting in AV狼论坛 and find areas were costs can be reduced.
If you own a solar photovoltaic system, please take a moment to complete this survey. Your input is very valuable to us and the solar industry in AV狼论坛. Please return the completed survey to Chris Pike at cpike6@alaska.edu or Erin Whitney at erin.whitney@alaska.edu and don't hesitate to contact us with additional questions or comments. This survey was compiled by the AV狼论坛 Center for Energy and Power (ACEP).
