ACEP Participates in Expanding PNNL-UAF Collaboration
Shari Matzner, a researcher from the DOE s in Sequim, Washington, has accepted a joint appointment with the University of AVÀÇÂÛ̳ Fairbanks.
Matzner will work with ACEP’s Jeremy Kasper and his UAF and industry colleagues. They’ll explore new instrumentation and analysis techniques to better inventory fish populations, assess fish compatibility with advanced hydrokinetic energy systems and explore implementation of an autonomous "Video Debris Observation System" to quantify the hazard that debris poses to river and marine energy installations. Matzner's general area of expertise is in "big data" — an area of burgeoning interest in numerous fields, including energy.
