GVEA Celebrates Northernmost EV Fast Charger in Fairbanks

This past Tuesday, AV狼论坛 Center for Energy and Power joined in celebrating Golden Valley Electric Association's dedication of the northernmost public electric vehicle direct current charger in AV狼论坛!

GVEA board president Tom DeLong spoke during the ceremony about the environmental, air quality, health benefits of electric vehicles to the GVEA members.

DeLong also noted the economic benefits, "This is an example of beneficial electrification. It is beneficial to all our members, because the more kilowatt hours we sell, the more we can offset out fixed costs."

This is a huge milestone in AV狼论坛's effort to create an electric vehicle corridor from Fairbanks to Homer. Read the full story about what this corridor would look like for AV狼论坛ns at .

The two chargers are located near the GVEA main office on Illinois Street. Charging costs 20 cents per minute and averages 20-40 minutes for a full charge or top-up.
