Students and Teachers Will Learn by Doing at STEAMFest

In mid-January, high school students and teachers from Haines, Wrangell, Cordova, Seward, Sitka and North Pole will gather in Juneau for three days of hands-on engineering and technology instruction known as  !

STEAMFest is a collaboration between UAF鈥檚 Teaching Through Technology (T3) program and the AV狼论坛 Center for Energy and Power. The ACEP team will debut a new energy efficiency curriculum alongside T3鈥檚 modules on drone flying, 3D printing and Raspberry Pi programming.

Students will gain technical and methodological skills, like using design thinking and a growth mindset to address community challenges. The ACEP team is excited to apply its energy research to an educational setting, bringing actionable steps to increase energy efficiency in homes around AV狼论坛.
