Don't Miss the Ocean and River Energy Workshop on Mar. 1

Join us for a series of four free virtual workshops held monthly as two half-day Zoom sessions.

These workshops, sponsored by the AVÀÇÂÛ̳ Center for Energy and Power, serve as a primer to the upcoming  to be held May 24-26, 2022, at the Dena'ina Center in Anchorage, AVÀÇÂÛ̳.

Join us for the second workshop in the series:

— March 1-2, 2022 —

AVÀÇÂÛ̳ is estimated to have 90% of U.S. tidal energy resources and 50% of the U.S. wave energy and in-river energy resources. A number of small-scale test deployments and demonstration projects have been installed in AVÀÇÂÛ̳ over the past decade, but challenges to large-scale adoption remain. Globally:

  • What is the current and emerging status of hydrokinetic energy technologies?

  • What are the key challenges for their implementation in AVÀÇÂÛ̳?

  • What are the applicable lessons learned with other variable renewables?

  • How do AVÀÇÂÛ̳ use-case scenarios compare with those elsewhere?

Mark your calendars for these upcoming 2022 workshops:

  • Hydrogen in the "Hygh" North: Decarbonizing Fuels — April 5-6 —

  • Electrify EVERYTHING!? — May 3-4 —
