2019
Mary received her B.S. in Environmental Sciences from the University of Notre Dame in 2019. After graduating, she worked at Lake Clark National Park where she helped monitor sockeye salmon escapement on the Newhalen and Telaquana rivers, developing a deep appreciation for Pacific salmon. She spent most of the next four years with the NPS, monitoring and studying the Pacific salmon and trout of both Lake Clark and Olympic National Park. Mary is excited to be at UAF for her graduate studies and will be assessing the relative reproductive success and phenotypic variation of hatchery-origin and natural-origin sockeye salmon in Auke Lake, Juneau. In her free time, Mary enjoys backpacking, running, fly-fishing, and playing music.
