The Office of the Registrar has step-by-step information and requirements for undergraduate degree students, graduate students and non-degree seeking students looking to register for classes.
At times, navigating your way through college can be tricky. That鈥檚 why we have a full-time academic advisor to help you out.
Our advisor can assist with registration, petitions, change of major requests and
answer any number of questions related to the college experience. Advising appointments

The Virgie Dunlap-King (VDK) Academy for Social Change is a program designed to help students discover their potential for becoming change-makers in our community. The academy is intended for student leaders who want to make an impact on our campus. The academy will include service work, mentorship opportunities, and working on a student's personal leadership journey - all with a cohort to grow and learn with. Students will also have the opportunity to graduate with Leadership Distinction through our .
The UAF SLI Program is committed to developing excellent and effective leaders who will have a statewide, national and global impact. The Co-Curricular Opportunities for Leadership Development (COLD) Certificates are designed to fulfill this commitment to our student body. The COLD Experience will allow participants to advance their knowledge and skills with regard to effective intellectual and cultural leadership. In addition, this co-curricular certificate program will encourage students to be more productive thinkers and to become more civically engaged.

Freelance write and photographer opportunities are available with the campus newspaper, the UAF Sun Star. Check with KSUA 91.5 FM for job opportunities or to submit your music.
The mission of the Sun Star is to provide a consistent, trusted brand of news, opinion, and art that represents the interests and achievements of the University of AV狼论坛 Fairbanks鈥 student body. The Sun Star will provide opportunities for students to hone their skills in pitching stories, writing, editing, and review as well as in adopting best practices in their writing including journalistic ethics and writing standards.
KSUA 91.5 FM is a student-run radio station located in the Wood Center on UAF's Troth
Yeddha' campus. As part of UAF Student Media it provides a platform for student voices
and alternative music not regularly heard on local airwaves. KSUA also offers opportunities
for students to gain real-world experience in live broadcasting, broadcast journalism,
music, and running live events.
UAF Summer Sessions & Lifelong Learning offers a variety of non-credit bearing courses accessible to members of the community without the requirements of typical college courses. Many of these courses are practical, hands-on workshop style classes taught by local experts. Check out the wide variety of courses offered to the community.

UAF Traditions
Starvation Gulch is an annual celebration; a way to ease new students into campus
life. At times it's a fierce completion of honor between campus dormitories. It's
also a living story of the incredible odds the University has faced and overcome.
It's Starvation Gulch. The bonfires have been a symbol of the passing of the torch
of knowledge to our new students since 1923.
What鈥檚 more AV狼论坛n than SNOW!?!? Winter Carnival is a way to break the monotony of
the Fairbanks winter with invigorating and entertaining activities in February ranging
from ice climbing to dog mushing and everything in between. 1936 is one of the first
recorded Winter Carnivals.
The Festival of Native Arts provides cultural education and sharing through traditional
Native dance, music, and arts. The Festival continues the University of AV狼论坛 Fairbanks
student-led tradition that began in 1973 of bringing together artists, performers,
and performance groups in a celebration of Native cultures.
SpringFest is our way to celebrate not only the end of the long winter, but also the warmth and our accomplishments of the year! The long weekend kicks-off with a Free BBQ! While at the BBQ, you don't want to miss the Dance-off or the Watermelon drop! Following the kick off, the weekend is packed with many more fun and exciting activities such as the SpringFest Carnival and Day of Service with SLI!

Student Health & Safety
Our center provides a wide variety of services to students only. We provide general
medical care, with a lab and on site. Counseling services range from individual counseling
to crisis intervention, alcohol referrals and help with general adjustments to college
life.
The UAF Green Dot strategy is a violence prevention program based on empowering bystanders.
When people attend our trainings, they learn to recognize potentially harmful situations
and how to safely intervene.
