Success at the Blue and Gold Gala
Thanks for your support of our successful Blue and Gold Gala this past weekend, where we exceeded the fundraising goal of $100,000 with a sell-out crowd!

The centennial celebration recognized distinguished faculty, alumni, friends and supporters. Recipients of the Emil Usibelli Distinguished Teaching, Research and Service Awards, respectively, are Mary Ehrlander, David Newman and Laura Conner. Grace Schaible, the Usibelli family and the late Elmer and Mary Louise Rasmuson were recognized as Philanthropists of the Century. March 2-4, Davis Concert Hall, Fairbanks campus The festival has brought together traditional AV狼论坛 Native artists, performers and performance groups from across the state since 1973.

6:30 p.m., March 6, Room 202, Reichardt Building (and outside) Chris Cannon, UAF doctoral student in cultural anthropology, will give a presentation and take participants on a star walk to learn more about the Northern Dene sky. Come dressed for the weather.

Visit various locations on the Fairbanks campus to answer 20 trivia questions about UAF's history, and choose a fun prize at the end of your self-guided tour.

As we celebrate UAF's 100th birthday throughout 2017, we want to hear your stories about your time at the university. They will be posted on the centennial memories , and collected for possible publication in a future Aurora magazine.

Community centennial programs start with sourdough
Several community programs are offered in 2017. The first, Hands-On History of Sourdough, will feature Marsha Munsell, retired UAF nutrition educator, teaching participants how to make and care for their own sourdough starter.
|
Participants will receive starter passed down from the late Lola Tilly, home economics professor from 1929 to 1963.
