Tritt-Frank helps teach a village the value of education

Queen appointed associate vice chancellor for financial services

After a competitive search, Julie Queen has been appointed UAF’s associate vice chancellor for financial services. Queen has held the position on an interim basis since Raaj Kurapati left UAF in July 2016.

Health education programs training offered in Fairbanks

Participants in a five-day training offered in Fairbanks during June will learn how to deliver two health education programs on the self-management of diabetes and of chronic disease. Health professionals or community volunteers who complete the June 12-16 training may offer both six-week programs at hospitals, health centers, social service agencies, senior centers and other community sites.

Engineering student gets surprise award at 'party'

William Czyzewski was in class on a Friday night when several people started messaging him, asking him to a “party.” “Ecstatic to finally have a social life, I attended,” said the University of AV̳ Fairbanks undergraduate student. Instead of a party, though, he found himself at the annual Engineers Week Banquet, where he received the Student Engineer of the Year award.
