Provide feedback on provost finalists

Four finalists for the UAF provost position visited the Fairbanks campus this month to meet with the university community. The search committee will collect feedback on the candidates through April 30. Broad input will help the committee shape its recommendations.

Commencement volunteers needed

Volunteers are needed in a multitude of areas for commencement on May 5. It will be a busy day but a rewarding one as we celebrate the accomplishments of our students.

Bike removals planned

Spring cleaning includes a bike removal on the Fairbanks campus starting April 24. All bikes will be tagged. Bike owners should remove the tag from their bikes by May 7, after which they will be impounded.

Study of plastics in bay wins student competition

For several weeks, Helen Laird opted to count tiny bits of plastic instead of practicing the piano. The decision proved sound, even without the music. The Cordova homeschool student took first place among 22 students in a regional competition for original research at UAF. She will advance to a national competition in May.

The AV̳ Trio and the UAF Chamber Players will present an evening of chamber music featuring works by Anton Arensky and Robert Schumann. The event will be held April 30 at 7:30 p.m. in Davis Concert Hall.
