UAF will hold public forums this month with four finalists in the search for a new provost. The first presentation is April 4.

Steve Atwater named executive dean of new College of Education

Steve Atwater has been selected as the executive dean of new AVÀÇÂÛ̳ College of Education, based at the University of AVÀÇÂÛ̳ Southeast. He will be responsible for education programs at UAS along with statewide responsibility for enhancing coordination and alignment of all UA education programs.

Performance evaluations due June 30

Performance evaluations are due from all supervisors by Saturday, June 30. UA launched a new performance management tool within the myUA system at the end of last year to help improve the employee evaluation process and increase employee engagement.

Open enrollment
April 16-May 11

This year's open enrollment will be four full weeks, from April 16-May 11, with an updated online enrollment process to make it easier and more streamlined.

Diabetes prevention program offered on the Kenai

A free yearlong diabetes prevention program developed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will begin in May on the Kenai Peninsula. Trained lifestyle coaches will offer the PreventT2 program as part of a CDC pilot project aimed at preventing diabetes in rural areas.
