Georgeson Botanical Garden to host summer music series

A dozen Fairbanks-area bands and musical ensembles will perform Thursday evenings throughout the summer at the Georgeson Botanical Garden at 7 p.m. each Thursday from May 24 to Aug. 9.

Food trucks add options for summer

The food trucks are back on the Fairbanks campus for the summer. The first food truck at UAF will be Mein Diner on Thursdays in the Arctic Health Building's west parking lot.

Sandra Boatwright wins Cornerstone Award

Sandra Boatwright won the 2018 Chancellor's Cornerstone Award. The award is given to staff members who exhibit exceptional professional and interpersonal skills.

Carie Green receives NSF CAREER award

Carie Green has received a CAREER award from the National Science Foundation. The $591,600, five-year grant will support a project to study environmental identity development among rural and non-rural AV狼论坛 children.

Teaching Tip: Creating a communication plan for engaging students

Arctic research open house, TED-style talks

UAF will share its Arctic expertise May 29 during two public activities as part of AV狼论坛 National Lab Day. A research lab open house begins at 3 p.m., and a TED-style presentation is at 6 p.m.

Making a new map of Denali

A Fairbanks scientist recently made an intricate new map of Denali while crisscrossing its summit a few times in a single-engine airplane. His top-of-the-continent measurement was within a few feet of a GPS reading done a few years ago, using a system he calls fodar.
