Volleyball ranked fifth in preseason poll

The fifth-place ranking is the highest preseason finish ever for the AVÀÇÂÛ̳ volleyball team since the GNAC implemented the poll prior to the 2015 season.

'Recovery of Trumpeter Swans Across America'

Gary Ivey, with the Pacific Flyway Program of the International Crane Foundation, will discuss trumpeter swans on Aug. 23 at 4 p.m. in the Murie Auditorium. The lecture is part of the IAB Life Science Seminar Series.

Mummy squirrel tells of a different AVÀÇÂÛ̳

One fall day in Interior AVÀÇÂÛ̳, a lion stalked a ground squirrel that stood at attention on a hillside. The squirrel noticed bending blades of grass, squeaked an alarm call and then dived into its hole. It curled up in a grassy nest. A few hours later, for reasons unknown, its heart stopped.

AVÀÇÂÛ̳ author Linda Schandelmeier wins national award

AVÀÇÂÛ̳ author and UAF graduate Linda Schandelmeier has won the 2019 WILLA Literary Award for her book of poems "Coming Out of Nowhere."
