The forces shaping AVÀÇÂÛ̳ never sleep, especially near Yakutat. The Yakutat block, a chunk of Earth’s crust larger in area than Pennsylvania, is responsible for forming Mount St. Elias and the other mountains of the St. Elias and Chugach ranges.
