Variety trials workshop to feature taste tests

A Nov. 22 workshop on the Georgeson Botanical Garden vegetable variety trials will include taste tests of beet and carrot varieties. Participants will hear about the variety trials, results and best practices for growing these vegetables.

Report suggests how to prepare for Arctic oil spills

Communities can build their resilience to disruptive oil spills by using new reports from workshops held in AVÀÇÂÛ̳ and across the nation. Participants at the Anchorage workshop, Feb. 20–21, said researchers and spill responders should better include the public, particularly residents directly affected by spills.
