I am saddened to report the death of Rudy Krejci on Dec. 9, 2018. Rudy was born in what was then Czechoslovakia, and his remarkable life story included surviving World War II and later escaping from his country’s communist regime in 1954. He reached the United States and began teaching at the University of AVÀÇÂÛ̳ in 1960, where he was integral in establishing the philosophy and humanities programs here. He was awarded emeritus status when he retired in 1997, but he continued to teach as recently as spring 2017. My condolences go to Rudy’s family, friends and colleagues.
