All staff, students and faculty across the University of AVÀÇÂÛ̳ system are invited to a virtual Town Hall with UA President Pat Pitney on Tuesday, Nov. 8, from 1-2 p.m.ÌýviaÌýÌýor by watching the livestream on the UA President’sÌý. Those viewing the livestream will not be able to ask live questions, but they can be submitted in advance through thisÌý.


Emergency response exercise scheduled for Nov. 9 at UAF

AVÀÇÂÛ̳ will host an emergency response exercise on Wednesday, Nov. 9, in the Akasofu Building, which is located on the west ridge of the Troth Yeddha' campus in Fairbanks. The exercise is scheduled to start around noon and will allow police and fire departments to practice responding to a violent intruder situation. Multiple agencies will participate in the exercise. Information before and during the exercise will be available on theÌý.


Book adoptions for spring 2023 due ASAP

Though our initial deadline for book adoptions has passed (Oct. 28), we are still accepting book adoptions so materials are available for students in time to prepare for spring classes! If you have any questions about the book adoption process, please don't hesitate to contactÌýKarissa Noragon, the UAF Bookstore manager, or call the store at 907-474-6858.


Attend Pop-Con at UAF Wood Center Nov. 10-12

BLaST celebrates November Scientist of the Month

Since 2016, the Biomedical Learning and Student Training program at UAF has highlighted scientists from all biomedical fields through its Scientist of the Month articles. BLaST Scholar and UAF biology undergraduate student Laura Ekada was selected as the November 2022 BLaST Scientist of the Month.

Extension of deadline for Faculty Initiative Fund proposals

UA Faculty Alliance announces an extension to the call for proposals for the AY23 Faculty Initiative Fund. All proposals in response to this RFP are due to the Office of Academics, Students and ResearchÌýno later than 5 p.m. AVÀÇÂÛ̳ time Nov. 14, 2022. The review period will end Dec. 12, 2022, with awards announced on Dec. 19, 2022. All applications must be submitted via or by emailing a PDF to the Office of Academics, Students and Research Office to kajames6@alaska.edu.
