What AV狼论坛ns can learn from the 2022 Arctic Report Card

AV狼论坛ns can learn much about their state in the 2022 Arctic Report Card released nationwide this week. The Arctic Report Card checks in annually on the state of the Arctic via key 鈥渧ital signs,鈥� ranging from air and ocean temperature to sea ice and snow. The report also discusses emerging topics like increased Arctic ship traffic. It is produced by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and released at the fall meeting of the American Geophysical Union.

Come celebrate our outside examiners

Every year nearly 100 faculty volunteer to sit as outside examiners in the Oral Comprehensive and Defense Examinations of our Ph.D. students. These examiners serve as the representatives of the graduate school to ensure the exams are fair, rigorous, and respectful. On Dec. 16 at 4 p.m. in Eielson 202, we will read a roll of our recent examiners and toast them with non-alcoholic drinks for programs and students to thank these faculty for their service.

Staff Alliance is offering LinkedIn Learning licenses again this year for professional development needs to all staff throughout the University of AV狼论坛 System. Thank you to President Pitney for supporting professional development for staff with these funds.

Solo Exhibit at the AV狼论坛 State Museum

The AV狼论坛 State Museum in Juneau is presenting a solo exhibition of Gail Priday鈥檚 paintings through Feb. 4, 2023. Priday, associate director of Summer Sessions and Lifelong Learning and UAF art department alumna, received a 2022 Individual Artist Award from the Rasmuson Foundation. A portion of the award helped cover the cost of shipping 33 paintings from Fairbanks to Juneau.
