Nanook Navigator early progress reports informing student success teams about concerns and barriers are now open through Friday, Feb. 3. We are encouraging instructors to complete urgent concerns/feedback by Wednesday, Jan. 25 to allow advisors and instructors time to meet with students before the add/drop deadline (Jan. 27).


URSA Innovative Technology and Education Award applications open Feb. 6

URSA's Innovative Technology and Education Award application period opens on Feb. 6. The ITE Award funds up to $5,000 and is open to all UAF undergraduate, graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, staff, and full-time faculty requiring technology-related equipment and/or software for student-based instruction and/or research.

Join Nanook Recreation when Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival World Tour brings the spirit of outdoor adventure to Fairbanks at the Davis Concert Hall. Doors open Sunday, Feb. 5 at 5:30 p.m. and the show starts at 6 p.m. The great hall will be open before the show, intermission, and after with a variety of local and state organizations to chat with. Join us for a pre-event party at the UAF Pub from 4-5:30 p.m. Tickets are available in advance ($12 student / $15 public) or at the door ($15 student / $20 public) at the Outdoor Adventures office, Wood Center, and Beaver Sports.

BLaST celebrates January 2023 Scientist of the Month

Since 2016, the Biomedical Learning and Student Training (BLaST) program at UAF has highlighted scientists from all biomedical fields through its Scientist of the Month articles. BLaST Scholar and UAF wildlife biology undergraduate student Tirzah Bryant was selected as the January 2023 BLaST Scientist of the Month.


Food preservation classes scheduled for Kodiak

University of AVÀÇÂÛ̳ Fairbanks Cooperative Extension agent Sarah Lewis will offer in-person food preservation classes in Kodiak this February.


Apply for spring graduation by Feb. 1

Students completing their degree requirements by the end of this spring term need to apply today! Spring graduation applications received by the initial deadline will be entered to win a vintage diploma frame.
