Friday Focus: Tamamta - All of Us - transforming together

We are so proud of the collective work of the Tamamta program. Tamamta means all of us in Yugtun and Sugs'tun. Inspired by Indigenous students, scholars, and leaders - the Tamamta team came together to seek deep transformation in how we teach about, study, and govern fisheries in AVÀÇÂÛ̳. We uplift Indigenous Peoples, Indigenous knowledge systems, and Tribal governance to the center of fishery systems - systems Indigenous Peoples have been stewarding across AVÀÇÂÛ̳ for thousands of years. The Department of Residence Life, Dining, and Chartwells Catering will be hosting the Annual HessAVÀÇÂÛ̳ for students/staff on campus for the Thanksgiving on Nov. 23 from 1-4 p.m. at the Hess Recreation Center. Dessert donations would be appreciated. If you would like to provide a dessert .

November BLaST Scientist of the Month

Since 2016, the Biomedical Learning and Student Training program at UAF has highlighted scientists from all biomedical fields through its Scientist of the Month articles. BLaST Scholar and UAF biology undergraduate student Sarah Dempsey was selected as the November 2023 BLaST Scientist of the Month. Learn more about Dempsey's work.


Pop-Con 2023

Attendees to Pop-Con have a chance to win a limited edition Spiderman 2 PS5, iPhone, Apple Watch and some Airpods. There will be a variety of vendors as well as free-to-play consoles and TCG tables in the Wood Center Multilevel Lounge. Pop-Con starts at 11 a.m. and runs through 10 p.m. with various activities including all day free bowling in Polar Alley. Read more for the schedule of events.
