Dear UAF students, faculty and staff,
Last week, UAF lost a beloved member of our community. Carol Hollingsworth passed
away at her home in Fairbanks on June 20.
Carol worked for UAF in a variety of administrative, student services and temporary
faculty positions for more than 25 years. She most recently served as a program manager
at the Eileen Panigeo MacLean House and an academic advisor with Rural Student Services.
This summer, she was advisor to more than 50 high school students attending the Rural
AVÀÇÂÛ̳ Honors Institute. Her colleagues describe her as a steadfast advocate for students.
I offer my condolences to Carol’s family members, friends, colleagues, and past and
present students. It’s clear that she touched many lives with her care and compassion
and that she will be greatly missed by many in our community.
If you or someone you know is struggling with this loss, please don’t struggle alone.
