Summer 2023 BLaST Undergraduate Research Experience funding opportunity

The Biomedical Learning and Student Training program invites students to apply to earn up to $5,000 to conduct research in summer 2023. These awards may be used to cover hourly wages, tuition, travel, supplies and services. The deadline to apply is Sunday, Feb. 26 by midnight.

AVÀÇÂÛ̳ Sea Grant will host the 2nd Annual Mariculture Conference of AVÀÇÂÛ̳ in Juneau, Feb. 15-17. Registration is now open for anyone interested in mariculture in AVÀÇÂÛ̳. This event will be where farmers, researchers and professionals in mariculture-related industries and agencies are meeting to present and discuss mariculture innovations, science and activities in AVÀÇÂÛ̳. The Rasmuson Library is holding a long awaited AVÀÇÂÛ̳ and Polar Regions book sale. Books will be available for purchase until the end of May.ÌýThe sale shelves are located on the main floor of Rasmuson Library near the Circulation desk.ÌýAll proceeds fund the purchase of newly published AVÀÇÂÛ̳ and Polar Regions collections.ÌýThe sale will have additional books added by noon every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Gender Inclusion 101 will introduce participants to gender diversity and inclusivity, explore why it's important for our campuses and communities to be safe and welcoming places for people of all genders, and share how participants can be active allies to the LGBTQ2IA+ community. UAF Alumni Association board seeks nominations

AVÀÇÂÛ̳ Alumni Association is accepting nominations to serve three-year terms on its 12-member board of directors. Nominations will be accepted through March 13, 2023. Nominees must be UAF graduates and members in good standing with the UAF Alumni Association, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting UAF and connecting its alumni. Candidates must be interested in a leadership and advocacy role in support of UAF, its alumni and the mission of higher education in AVÀÇÂÛ̳.


2023 Chinese Lantern Festival Celebration

As part of the Lunar New Year celebrations, the UAF Chinese Club will be hosting the 2023 Chinese Lantern Festival Celebration. Join us with your friends and family for a celebration of light, culture, and love! Youth rock climbing programs

Skiathon is back as mass start race

The Skiathon, a 20-kilometer classic-style ski race and tour, will be held on the UAF trails Sunday, March 5. The annual event is a fundraiser for UAF trails work. The registration fee is $15 if received by noon March 4. Late registration is $40. Finishers will receive a Skiathon patch.
