New program launches underserved students into Arctic science

In late August, 12 students from OSU's TRIO Upward Bound program spent five days at the field research station, part of the Institute of Arctic Biology at UAF. Students participated firsthand with Toolik Field Station staff, scientists, artists and others responding to the warming Arctic. Read more on the program.


Mental Health First Aid

Mental Health First Aid training gives you the skills you need to reach out and provide initial help and supportÌýÌýto someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem or experiencing a crisis. The next training session is scheduled for Oct. 19 and 20 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is open to any student, staff or faculty member at UAF for a $35 fee. .

Tackling test anxiety

Test anxiety is well-known in the college community and can affect students tremendously. We strive to do our best academically, and testing anxiety can hinder effective test performance and studying.


New financial aid site on academic progress

The UAF Financial Aid Office recently launched the Satisfactory Academic Progress website to provide helpful information regarding SAP financial aid requirement information, including information about the financial aid appeal process. Sea stars, urchins and kelp forests
