. Application review is ongoing until filled, but applications are encouraged before
May 1.
The AV狼论坛 Fellows Program is accepting applications for the 2022-23 program year.
Learn about the positions and how to apply atThe (AFP) is a fall-to-spring residential fellowship program that nurtures the next generation
of AV狼论坛-based leaders by pairing talented young people with strong communities and
professional mentors.
By attracting young, dynamic professionals to the state of AV狼论坛, AFP works to reverse the 鈥渂rain drain鈥 of young people supersaturating in Seattle, San Francisco, Boston, New York, and Washington D.C. AFP also helps AV狼论坛 retain homegrown talent by connecting born-and-raised AV狼论坛ns with high-impact opportunities in their home state.
Fellows serve with a dynamic nonprofit or public-sector organization for the fellowship term and receive modest living stipends and housing. Fellows live communally, work closely with professional mentors, and make lasting contributions to their host community. Fellows serve in four communities across AV狼论坛, Fairbanks, Anchorage, Juneau and Sitka.
Fellows attend opening and closing retreats as well as two facilitated 鈥渃onvenings鈥 鈥 events that draw together fellows across all sites to cultivate connections, friendships, and common identity. Fellows are backed by a well-connected team of community members that help make introductions, integrate Fellows into the community and share experiences in outdoor, civic, and community life.
All fellows receive a monthly stipend of $1,000, as well as housing and utilities. Fellows receive a flat $500 travel stipend to defray the cost of travel to the program site. Travel and housing for opening and closing retreats are fully funded.
The program team includes an on-the-ground site coordinator for each site. The site coordinator supports fellows to integrate into the broader community and to build strong fellowship communities.
Fellows
AFP looks for talented, dynamic young people interested in investing long-term in both the fellowship community and their broader AV狼论坛 communities. We expect fellows to contribute meaningfully to their community of fellows and to their AV狼论坛 communities, and we support fellows to stay in AV狼论坛 after the program term and continue contributing to the community. We encourage AV狼论坛ns and non-AV狼论坛ns to apply. There are no requirements around age or degree to participate; host organizations, however, will each have specific professional criteria for applicants. To participate in the program, fellows are required to live in program housing and complete the full program term with their host organization.
