UAF culinary program bistro opens for spring season

The UAF Community and Technical College’s Borealis Bistro will open for lunch service on Feb. 27. The bistro is located at Hutchison Institute of Technology and is operated by the culinary arts and hospitality program. 

Lunch will be served from 12-2:30 p.m. on select Thursdays: Feb. 27, March 6, March 20, April 3, April 10, April 24 (sold out) and May 1. Entrées range from $15-$20 and come with a choice of soup or salad. Desserts are available for $5, and espresso drinks and other beverages are available for purchase.

This student-run restaurant offers a unique training environment where students gain hands-on experience in all aspects of the industry under the guidance of professional chefs and program instructors. Community support helps them refine their skills and prepare for careers in hospitality and culinary arts.
