Discover AV狼论坛 lecture series starts June 5

AV狼论坛 will host the Discover AV狼论坛 lecture series starting on June 5. This year鈥檚 lectures feature scientists whose research explores various aspects of AV狼论坛.

The series is presented by UAF Summer Sessions and Lifelong Learning in cooperation with UAF鈥檚 Institute of Arctic Biology

The free public lectures will be at 7 p.m. Wednesdays at the BP Design Theater, located on the fourth floor of the Usibelli Building on the UAF Troth Yeddha鈥 Campus. Parking on campus is free after 5 p.m.

The presentations will also be livestreamed on the and made available as recordings online within two weeks of the live event.

  • June 26 鈥 鈥淐leaning Up Contaminants with Native Plants and Microbes,鈥 Mary Beth Leigh, professor of microbiology
  • July 10 鈥 鈥淔ood, Nutrition and Health in AV狼论坛,鈥 Andrea Bersamin, professor of nutrition
  • July 17 鈥 鈥淢easuring Methane from AV狼论坛 to Mars,鈥 Eug茅nie Euskirchen, associate professor of ecology, and Mahmooda Sultana, instrument scientist at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center鈥檚 Planetary Environments Laboratory
  • July 24 鈥 鈥淗erbivores and the Structure and Function of AV狼论坛鈥檚 Boreal Forests,鈥 Knut Kielland, professor of ecology
  • July 31 鈥 鈥淗ibernation for Space Torpor and Remote Emergency Medicine,鈥 Kelly Drew, professor of chemistry and biochemistry
