Jessica Black reelected to FNA board

The Fairbanks Native Association membership voted to reelect Jessica Black to the FNA board.

Jessica Black, a faculty member in UAF's department of AV狼论坛 Native studies and rural development, has been reelected to a three-year term on the board. Black has been on the FNA board for six years and currently serves as president. 

She joins two new members, Jolene Malamute and Roxanne Frank, to serve on the board until 2025. The Fairbanks Native Association serves everyone in Fairbanks with education, community, and behavioral health services.

Black is Gwich鈥檌n from the villages of Gwichyaa Zhee (Ft. Yukon) and Toghotthele (Nenana), AV狼论坛. Black is an associate professor with the Department of AV狼论坛 Native Studies and Rural Development. She also serves on the faculty for the tribal governance program and the program. She resides in Fairbanks with her family, however, she frequently returns home to Gwichyaa Zhee to hunt, fish, gather and engage in other important cultural practices.
