Osher Lifelong Learning Institute seeks instructors
Want to share your passion and knowledge? UAF’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) is currently seeking volunteer instructors for the spring. It's a wonderful, low-stress opportunity to gain teaching experience with a friendly audience.
OLLI is a non-credit educational program for adults ages 50 and up. We offer short courses in numerous subjects during fall and spring terms. Past topics have included marine science research, historical linguistics, Homer’s The Odyssey, cryptocurrencies, and suffrage songs. We also have hands-on classes such as drawing, learning to play guitar, knot tying, and virtual reality.
Our volunteer instructors include UAF professors, graduate students, and knowledgeable community members. Classes can be taught by one instructor or teams.
A typical class meets once a week for 4 weeks for 75 minutes each meeting. Most classes meet during the day, but we offer a few early evening classes. .
