The next talk in the Shine a Light series,”Black organizing in AV̳,” will be on Tuesday, Feb. 15, at noon.

Alyssa Quintyne shares her experience as a Black organizer in AV̳ and about the barriers for Black people in leadership and organizing spaces. Hear ideas on how to help lift those barriers to support Black leaders in your communities.

Alyssa Quintyne is a Bajan-American organizer, creative, and musician in Fairbanks. She earned her bachelor’s degree in political science and violin performance at UAF and now works with statewide and local organizations on community advocacy and civic engagement.
