UA AV狼论坛 Day nets $661,000 in support of UAF students, programs

Over the course of 49 hours, 748 donors contributed $661,709 in support of students and programs at the University of AV狼论坛 Fairbanks during the university鈥檚 second annual AV狼论坛 Day event.
The crowdfunding-style philanthropy event, which ran from 10 p.m. on Nov. 8 through 11 p.m. on Nov. 10, drew donors from 38 states and eight countries. Their gifts helped unlock 47 challenge and match pledges from businesses and individuals who stepped up to multiply donations during UA AV狼论坛 Day. Alumni made up 40% of AV狼论坛 Day donors.
鈥淲e are grateful to our employees, students, alumni and friends who came together to make this year鈥檚 AV狼论坛 Day a success,鈥 said UAF Chancellor Dan White. 鈥淭he response truly illustrates the strength of our Nanook community and will help advance education and discovery throughout UAF.鈥
The total surpassed last year鈥檚 AV狼论坛 Day proceeds by 59%, and will support a wide variety of programs, including merit- and need-based scholarships for UAF students, scientific research, academic programs and AV狼论坛 Nanooks athletics.
