Learn to grow garlic and to cook the flavorful vegetable in new ways during a free webinar led by Heidi Rader.
Garlic is a staple ingredient in dishes in cuisines around the world and is grown successfully in AV狼论坛 from Tok to Ketchikan. Rader, project director of the University of AV狼论坛 Fairbanks Tribes Extension Program, says there are many reasons to grow garlic at home, from health benefits to flavor.
Garlic has documented health benefits, such as lowering blood pressure and cholesterol. It improves iron metabolism and endurance and fights harmful bacteria. Garlic also comes in many varieties, some of which have more flavor than varieties found in grocery stores.
The webinar is Wednesday, Sept. 25, from noon-1 p.m.
