University of North Dakota School of Law
Through UAF’s 3+3 partnership with UND Law, complete your bachelor’s and law degree in just six years. Benefit from an affordable, high-quality legal education!
The University of North Dakota School of Law (UND Law), founded in 1899, is the state’s only law school and plays a central role in shaping North Dakota’s legal landscape. With approximately 250 students, UND Law offers a blend of innovative education, entrepreneurial opportunities, and a tight-knit community. Students receive hands-on training through externships, competitions, and practicums, ensuring they are practice-ready upon graduation. The school focuses on professional development, critical thinking, creative problem solving, and a commitment to serving society.
UND Law is recognized as one of the "best value" law schools, offering high-quality education at an affordable price, with one of the lowest levels of student debt in the nation. With a small student body, students benefit from personalized attention and an intimate learning environment. The law school also plays a key role in addressing the growing legal needs of North Dakota, especially in rural areas. A recent $11.4 million renovation has enhanced the law school’s facilities, further strengthening its reputation and academic offerings for the future.
The recent 3+3 agreement between UAF and UND Law allows UAF students to complete both their undergraduate and law degrees in just six years. UND Law’s affordable tuition is further enhanced for UAF students, as they can qualify for in-state tuition after one year of residency, reducing tuition costs to under $10,000 per year.
