Room Change Process
Wanting to change rooms? Residence Life wants to ensure your living situation is safe and meets your academic and social needs. If you have roommate concerns and you are not sure how to handle them, seek out your Resident Assistant. You can also stop by the Residence Life Central Office, located in the MBS Complex.

How to change your room
Standard Room Change
View available spaces and change your current room assignment by participating in a room change lottery.
Change rooms via Housing Portal
To access the online housing room change lottery, login to your Housing Portal.
Go to Room Selection/Change and select from a list of available rooms and halls.
Wait for confirmation
If your room change request is confirmed, you'll be notified through your preferred email. This email will include details about your new room and with instructions of how and when you can move.
Things to keep in mind
You can change your room selection as many times as you'd like while the lottery is open. This includes selecting your original room assignment, if still available.
If you select a room with no roommate and did not request a Super Single, your room change request will be canceled and you will be required to stay in your current assignment until the next room change lottery.
To select a Super Single room you must call the Central Office from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. at 907-474-7247, additional fees will apply.
Room Swap
If you and another student want to switch rooms with each other, you can do a room swap.
Submit a Room Swap form
You can pick up a copy of the Room Swap form from the Central Office in the MBS Complex. Fill out a form and ensure all residents involved sign the form.
Submit completed form to the Central Office or submit to after-hours drop box next to Central Office door. Forms must be submitted in accordance with the Even Swap Timetable.
