Center ICE partners with UAF鈥檚 Office of Intellectual Property and Commercialization (OIPC) to support and protect intellectual property.
Center ICE鈥檚 intellectual property services are only available to UA faculty, staff, and students, though we're happy to chat with community members and direct them to other available resources. Center ICE鈥檚 IP services are available anytime!

Inventions at UA
Trevor Parcell, left, and Carl France with the AV狼论坛 Center for Unmanned Aircraft Systems Integration (ACUASI) set up a piloting station on a gravel bar along the upper Chena River. The UAV pilots were taking part in a joint effort with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to collect video of important king salmon spawning habitat.
Mechanical engineering major Neil Gotschall demonstrates the fat tire ski bike he and two partners designed and built for paraplegic users as their spring 2016 senior design project. The bike is powered by pushing and pulling on the handles.
Parker Bradley, a biologist with the AV狼论坛 Department of Fish and Game, sets up a net housed under a turbine placed in the Tanana River near Nenana. The work is part of research being carried out by UAF's AV狼论坛 Center for Energy and Power (ACEP) to determine the feasibility of hyrokinetic generators being used to help offset the high cost of energy throughout rural AV狼论坛. At far left is UAF fisheries undergraduate student Stephanie Jump who spent the summer of 2015 interning with Fish and Game on the project. At right are ACEP researchers Jeremy Kasper and Jack Schmid.
Mechanical engineering major Patrick Wade gives the "cubesat" he helped design and build a final inspection as part of his work with the AV狼论坛 Space Grant program. The miniature satellite is scheduled to be launched into space in August, 2015 from Vandenburg Air Force Base in California.
