Research interests/biography

O'Brien's research is aimed at understanding how fish maintain energy production at cold temperatures. Expertise includes physiology and biochemistry, mitochondrial biology, metabolic remodeling in fishes at cold temperature and adaptations of Antarctic fishes to cold temperature.
